htcone-silverVerizon has the HTC One 4G Android smartphone running on their 4G wireless network in the United States, the largest such system in the US, with more than 440 markets covered. The HTC One hit Big Red back in May, and immediately rolled off 5 million units much quicker than industry analysts had expected. The handset is still a big seller and flagship device for Verizon, and recently received a reduction in retail price to $99 on contract. The phone delivers one of the largest high resolution displays in the entire mobile marketplace, and a powerful hardware package.

The Verizon HTC One can be purchased at a reduced sale price starting at $99.99.

Last month the HTC president promised the One 4G globally would receive a boost up to the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system, guaranteeing that delivery in the United States by the end of September. It does not look like that prediction and mandate is going to come to pass, so HTC One users can expect an October Android 4.3 update. The glacial silver HTC One is a popular choice among smartphone shoppers, and delivers a full 32 GB of on-board storage and 2.0 GB of RAM memory.

One of the many attractive features the powerful HTC One delivers is an infrared sensor, allowing you to control your television set and home stereo system with the phone. You can also channel surf and access programming guides, adjust the audio and perform other operations on your HDTV with this feature of the HTC One. The phone is also environmentally responsible, receiving independent testing lab UL Environment’s platinum certification as owning environmentally friendly construction.

Unlike most phones that only deliver HD video recording through their rear facing camera, the HTC One offers a front facing 2.1 megapixel chat cam with video call support and 1,080P HD video recording resolution. The rear camera on the handset offers the technologically advanced HTC UltraPixel technology, recording video in 1,080P HD resolution, as well as the ability to capture slow motion clips at 768 x 432 pixels. The optical lens system on the rear shooter of the HTC One also allows for up to 300% more light capture than other smartphone cameras with 8 or even 13 megapixel sensors.

Despite a rugged premium metal unibody, Gorilla Glass 2 scratch resistance, a large 4.70 inch display and packed hardware package, the handset is light for such a big phone, weighing just 5.04 ounces (143 g). The HTC One is also skinny, measuring just 0.37 inches (9.3 mm) in thickness. That large Super LCD 3 display delivers a Full HD resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels, meaning an industry-leading 468 pixels per inch. Up to 16.0 hours of talk time can be squeezed out of a single battery charge, and the phone runs on a quad core 1.7 GHz Snapdragon 600 CPU. A Stereo FM radio with RDS is on board, pumping Beats Audio-boosted sound through dual front facing speakers. The Verizon HTC One can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at $99.99.
