Amazon Cloud is slowing making waves on the net and today it was announced that a couple of features may have been added that you didn’t know about.  Amazon added a feature that supports iOS devices through its Safari browser, which is not commonly known about the Cloud.  Currently a user can log into their Amazon account and access the Amazon Cloud Player and all the audio files located on Amazon servers, which can be played on your iPhone or iPad.

This additional doesn’t come close to the Cloud Player via Android app, but Amazon is surely going to be working out the kinks in future releases.  The service that started in March was initially only supporting the audio files being streamed via the web or an Android device.  The basics of the Amazon Cloud Player include a 5GB online storage area for free, but can be expanded up to 1000GB with a premium account.

The Amazon Cloud service is very unique in that you can buy a song or upload a song and it is stored online forever.  Even if you lose your computer, crash your hard drive or just plan forget about your account for a while, you will be able to access your files through Amazon’s servers, forever.

Another feature of the Cloud service is that you can also download your files from the servers to your local hard drive, flash drive or other device and use the file offline if you need to.  This would make things like storing files from one computer and downloading them from another computer very easy to do.  Users that travel and always need a backup file system would benefit greatly from the Amazon Cloud.

Amazon came along with their Cloud Player very quickly and it was launched before that of a similar service that Apple was going to launch called iCloud, sometime this year.  The Cloud Player allows users to upload their own music and from there they can stream the songs online or through certain devices.  The difference will be that iTunes could “lose” a file at any time, Amazon Cloud files will never be lost.

The iPhone users that wanted to access their Cloud account could not do that, unlike those on Android, but now that Safari was added to the list, users will be able to at least access their files via mobile devices.  Having a more accessible file storage system will benefit Amazon, as well as, the Cloud users in the long run.
