Amazon has planned on expanding its successful Kindle Fire, line of tablets, with the company expected to announce two new 7-inch devices to this range. This is contrary to earlier reports which speculated that the Amazon will look to compete against the likes of Apple’s iPad by introducing a 10 inch tablet. The company is expected to add a few more features and consumers would find a revamped version of the first Kindle fire. Amazon possibly won’t find success quite as easy courtesy of the increased competition in this segment. Amazon already faces competition from Google’s 7 inch Nexus tablet and with rumours of a 7 inch iPad, competition is all set to reach new heights.
The Kindle fire created a revolution last year, courtesy of its price tag of $199. The Kindle Fire was rated the most innovative product courtesy of this price tag as well as access to Amazon’s exclusive content. There were others who asserted that the product was a hit as it wasn’t an iPad killer. This is something that most Android vendors are striving to achieve. Amazon’s success strategy was mainly attributed as they viewed the tablet as another source for promoting their online store content.
The decision to refrain from charging the consumers for Hardware as well worked well for Amazon. Amazon makes most profits by selling Amazon store products using the tablet as a medium. However the emergence of a low cost tablet like the Google nexus would only negate the cost advantage in the Kindle fire’s possession.
Rumours suggest that Amazon might be looking at further reducing the price of the new tablet, with the inclusion of a new user interface. Also, several rumours that have surfaced recently suggest that the Kindle Fire will have several advancements in Hardware, implying the device will have a faster processor, a camera, more storage space (not expandable) and several other advancements. Despite expectations of Amazon being second after Apple in the tablet market, it turns out that Samsung with its line of Galaxy tablets is the second largest in the world, mainly because of their global reach.
However Amazon were still positive in their address last week as they claimed that the original Kindle Fire was completely sold out. Amazon is also devising new strategies which are aimed at ensuring that the next Kindle Fire is well received in the European as well as Asian markets. The price of these new tablets are yet to be released, but the 7-inch tablet market is looking a lot more interesting now.

Amazon will introduce a tablet larger than 7″ The rumors of 7″ only is misinformation to keep it a surprise. I do not believe Amazon will not move forward to sell more larger format video.
