Today’s crop of smartphones have so much technology crammed into them that you can already do a lot of things on your smartphone that were unimaginable say, 10 years ago. Right now, you can already surf the web, watch films, play games and a do lot more on your handset but this comes at a price – the battery life of smartphones today have dwindled that is not uncommon for a person to have his handset plugged into a wall outlet at the end of the day for use on the morrow. But if you happen to rock a Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD from Verizon as your mobile weapon of choice, an easily depleted power pack should be the least of your worries.
After all, the handset comes with a massive 3300 mAh power pack in its chassis which gives the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD an unprecedented battery life which we haven’t seen in the past (except with the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx, the handset’s predecessor). However, that is not the only good thing going on for the handset.
Remember when Motorola unveiled the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD a couple of months back? The OEM confirmed that although the handset will hit the shelves with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for its operating system, a speedy upgrade to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is in the offing for the handset. At that time, it was hard to believe the statement of Motorola since the company is not known for being very timely in the rollout of updates to its devices.
However, it looks like Motorola is out to prove everybody wrong this time around because Verizon has already posted in its official support site the support documents for the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD. Big Red has announced that the update that will crank up the software version of the handset to 9.1.41.XT926.Verizon.en.US will come with the upgrade to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the device.
The update weighs in at approximately 276MB and will bring Jelly Bean features such as Google Now to the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD. The update will also bring better voice and data connectivity to the handset along with a couple of bug fixes. An ETA for the update to land on the handset was not mentioned but with these support documents already in the support site of Big Red, it would be any day now and the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD will finally get a taste of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
As for the Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD, the handset’s circuitry is built around its QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset which comes with a dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor and a full gigabyte of RAM.
