htconeblackjAt the moment, the HTC One is without a doubt one of the most powerful handsets currently available in the market today. This is not surprising at all given the fact that the smartphone is the current flagship device of the Taiwanese smartphone maker. Given that status, it is only natural for the HTC One to come with very impressive components under the hood but not only that, the handset also boasts of an aluminum unibody construction that gives the handset a solid build quality and a classy and elegant design aesthetic.

The HTC One 4G is available for a reduced sale price now starting at .

However, despite all the power the HTC One packs in its internals, the handset is still a bit disadvantaged compared to the Samsung Galaxy S IV, its main competitor, because the Samsung flagship is already running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean while the HTC superphone is still stuck with Android 4.1.2 for its operating system. Although some would say that this is not something you would nitpick on, some of our smartphone-crazed brethren would rather have the latest and the greatest from Google on their handsets.

Of course, with all the power it packs under the hood, the HTC One will sooner or later get cranked up to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean but some people just can’t wait for this to happen. However, these people might not have to wait very long if certain rumors pan out. Word on the street is that the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update is about to land on the HTC One very soon and the source of the speculations is a Tweet from ROM developer @LlabTooFeR and we quote, “Chinese M7C_DUG just started getting 4.2.2 update. I expect 4.2.2 on usual M7 today as well. pic.twitter.com/tSret7H0xE.

According to @LlabTooFeR, the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update has started rolling out to the dual-SIM variant of the HTC flagship released in China last June 28 and the ROM developer believes that the update is bound to land on the international version of the HTC One pretty soon. No rumored date has been mentioned as of yet and since HTC is yet to make an official announcement regarding the supposed Android 4.2.2 update for the international variant of the HTC flagship, you are well-advised to take all this information with a grain of salt. Of course, it goes without saying that once more details become available, you will be the next to know.

Going back to the HTC One, the HTC flagship has its circuitry built around a QualComm APQ8064T SnapDragon 600 chipset which powers its operation. The performance of the handset is always at peak levels thanks to its quad-core 1.7 GHz Krait 300 processor and 2GB of RAM. In terms of storage space, the HTC One is available in a 32GB and a 64GB version while its display is a 4.7-inch Super LCD3 panel with a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Its dual-shooter configuration is also very impressive with its rear 4MP UltraPixel shooter and front 2.1MP video call and self-portrait snapper.
