Now that those with the Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4 KitKat update rolling out right now, it is time to take a look at the model that arrived last year and sold like hot cakes. The odds are very good that the Note 2 will be getting the same treatment from Google, but when exactly is the key here. When the update hits there are a few things that users will find more useful than others and there might even be a couple that will not arrive that were expected.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $149.99 – $709.99.
Google announced the KitKat version of Android back in November of last year and it was at that point that the Moto X, Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7 and the Nexus 10 devices were updated immediately with it. There have been a few bugs here and there, but for the most part, the devices that are on the update list and things have been going well enough. The release for the new software is expected to be ready to go between March and April, according to the rumors that were reported last week. The Galaxy S3 is expected to be updated around April and the Note 2 was going to be could be release next to that one.
Once the release date gets closer, it is very likely that Samsung is not going to say anything about it and that is just based on the fact that the Galaxy Note 3 came without any warning. The features and fixes that came to the Galaxy Note 3 were not known via change log, users had to read about it after users got the update installed. The Galaxy Note 2 users will likely have the same treatment in the next month or two.
This update will also likely be rolled out in stages and the reason that some companies do this is to make sure that as the software hits the masses there are no bugs going along with it. As the rollout continues, the percentage of users is higher and that way Samsung can get a controlled reading as to how the software update is going. Features that are going to be sent to the Galaxy Note 2 with the Android 4.4 KitKat software are not known at this time, but it is expected to bring the same thing that those with the Note 3 and the Galaxy S4 got.
