Apple has been wowing the crowd ever since it released the iPhone back in 2007. Then the tablet market opened up and Apple made a very good attempt at that as well. Bringing in the popular iPad and now the iPad Mini, but rumors are flowing that one of the richest companies in the world could be making an even larger iPad. With the new, larger iPad, the screen is going to be about 3-inches larger and that will give an even better Retina resolution. The next step in resolution is considered “4K” and Apple might be able to produce that.
Even though the Retina display debut on the iPhone 4 model, Android powered smartphones and tablets have been equipped with something better over the last 2 years or more. With that being said, it will not surprise anyone that Apple is going to try and jump a step ahead of everyone else with the first 4k resolution tablet. Apple has reportedly been experimenting with the 4k resolution and 2k as well. The newest iPad model is reportedly going to arrive by the end of April of next year.
Apple typically takes a silent stance on anything new coming down the line, but the supply chain is usually where the information gets leaked and that is the case with the 12.9-inch iPad. With a display of that size, the iPad would be very close to the same size as the MacBook Air and the MacBook Pro in terms of display size. The company that supplies Apple with the display is reportedly putting together a 12.9-inch model with a 2k resolution. According to one online source, “Recently, we got some news about 12.9 inches of iPad. We understand that Foxconn for 12.9 inches of iPad did five different scenarios, and Apple may choose from two options. That Apple may launch two 12.9 inches of iPad.”
A 12.9-inch model of the iPad would certainly get some attention from consumers and other tablet makers alike. The market is already flooded with 7-inch, 8-inch and 10-inch models so this would put Apple out on top of the rest of the companies. Other companies are likely to be working on larger models as well, but may not be able to get the 4k resolution that Apple is reportedly working on. With 4k resolution, streaming media would be premium on the mobile device.
