A week or so ago, Apple won a $1.05 billion dollar verdict in a trial against Samsung over a patent infringement suit. The California company had alleged that Samsung copied the company’s patented designs as the smartphones from Samsung looked similar to the iPhone and its tablets were remarkably identical too. The case went on for a couple of weeks and at the end Apple emerged victorious on a few legitimate grounds but analysts were of the opinion that the location had a great advantage for it.

While Apple is clearly rejoicing at its victory and is going to try and take Samsung’s products off the market by seeking permanent bans against them, the same doesn’t appear true among the consumers, and eerily enough among Apple fans. The best evidence for this happens to be Apple’s facebook page where fans initially had posts about the technology and their appreciation of the company and its products but lately, everything has to do with the trial. Moreover, it appears that a lot of people are not happy with the verdict as the popular opinion seems that Apple doesn’t own the rights to a phone based on its large screen and rectangular face.

As soon as the judgment was delivered, there were several tweets from well known personalities mocking Apple’s victory and the snowball effect seems to have taken over there. The end result was that Apple no longer has the underdog effect it had at the start of the trial when it made it seem like Samsung was ripping it off for billions of dollars. Now, it just looks like Apple won the case too easily and customers are beginning to look at it as the big bully in town. All this is of course on the sidelines as the world is gearing up for the next release from Apple.

September 12th will be the official unveiling of what is apparently the iPhone 5. Whether or not people are going to appreciate the simple but restricted ecosystem of the iOS even now is going to be answered that day. If Apple is going to have nothing more than a larger screen on the new version, then it might just lose out on a lot of sales. However, if it is as innovative as the victory in court labeled it to be, then it is going to have a very good year ahead!
