Apple launched one of the biggest changes in its operating system since the iPhone launched back in 2007 and it was quickly met with complaints about buggy software. Apple cannot just wait around while consumers freak out and spread the word that the software is junk, so it release a couple of updates over the last week or more. Coming into this week, Apple has fixed bugs that allowed the bypass of the lock screen in some cases and now it looks like a new release is ready and could be released as early as next week.
Apple iOS 7 was released last month and it brought a new interface with it that appears flatter, comes with brighter colors and enhanced the internal hardware including the camera. Almost as soon as everyone was getting settled in with the new interface, Apple had to release 7.0.1 in order to fix a couple of bugs that were reported by users. The lock screen bypass issues came next which forced Apple to release another update, which was 7.0.2 in order to close the security risk that bug proposed.
With so many updates in a short time, some are wondering when Apple is going to release the next big update, iOS 7.1 and for now, rumors suggest that could happen when the company releases its new iPad lineup this year. According to one online source, iOS 7.0.3 is going to be released before the next major update and could arrive as early as next week as long as the testing period goes without any issues. The software is reportedly in the final testing phase and will be released for iPhone and iPad models. October 15th is the date that could be the soonest that consumers see the new iPad lineup.
The iPad event that is rumored to be schedule for that day is one day after Google is expected to be releasing the next generation Nexus handset and tablet device. The new iPad Mini 2, as well as the iPad 5 should be expected on that day and if things go well, attendees will also be able to see the new iOS 7.1 update in action. The new iPads should be released with the latest software pre-installed, but that has yet to be confirmed at this time.
