Apple may have had several patent lawsuits against its arch rival Google but a recent development has indicated that Apple may even consider giving up the whole idea of “thermonuclear war” against Google. The war which was declared by Steve Jobs a little before his death could well be nearing its end.

An interview with Steve’s official biographer confirmed his harsh reactions towards Android enterprise as a whole. In his opinion, he always considered Android to be a stolen product and would spend every last penny in bringing down Google’s vast empire. The current CEO Tim Cook, on the other hand seems to be perceiving things differently. People at Apple who have been closely related with the anti-Android fiasco are looking to work out a deal which will involve several negotiations.

Employees at Apple believe that Cook lacks the bitter attitude required to bring down an enterprise like Google. So, what happens now? Lawyers from both sides are expected to approve many licensing pacts. The irony is that both these companies spent a fortune on these lawyers and neither of the two would get anything fruitful from these lawsuits.

Critics however suggest that these cross licensing pacts will not solve the tension between Apple and Google. The problems that both these companies are facing aren’t restricted to smartphones and tablets only. These extend to different multimedia like movies, apps, TV shows etc. Critics believe that Google would have had the upper hand in most of these lawsuits courtesy of the sheer number of Android smartphones out there. Added to this Google has the support of Amazon which provides its own Android based menu.

Developers on the other hand seem to prefer Apple’s platform over Google’s Android because of the lack of fragmentation in the hardware. The lawsuits between Apple and Samsung have also had a comical side to them as Samsung is one of the leading hardware suppliers for Apple’s devices.  The symbiotic relationship these two companies share is worth more than $7 billion. This is another reason why many of the lawsuits need to end as the relationship that the two companies share is necessary for either of them.

Any hindrance in this relationship will only result in an unstable economy which would cause harm to the many investors. These fights may soon come to an end as both sides will work out a deal that will not only benefit the two tech giants but also keep the idea of competition alive.
