At the moment, the Samsung Galaxy Note II, despite its slightly aging status, is still the king of the hill in the phablet category of the smartphone competition. no contest here given the fact that the Samsung phablet is the epitome of what a phablet should be – a cross between a smartphone and a tablet. Not only that, the Samsung Galaxy Note II is considered as one of the more capable handsets in the market today, this despite the fact that a new breed of superphones have already been unveiled and has started hitting the shelves.

The fact that the Samsung Galaxy Note II has impressive components under the hood is already a foregone conclusion but the main selling point of the handset, that little something that makes it the phablet that it is, is still its massive 5.5-inch display. With this much screen real-estate, the Samsung Galaxy Note II is the ideal multimedia consumption device. However, couple that big-ass display with the phablets’s S-Pen stylus and you now have an option to take your creativity to another level.

However, that is not the only good thing with the Samsung Galaxy Note II. The phablet is armed with an array of connectivity options that could get you online anytime, anywhere. In addition to that, the Samsung phablet also supports LTE connectivity which makes it ideal for surfing the web because of the ultrafast mobile internet speeds an LTE network offers.

Take the case of AT&T in US shores. The wireless provider is currently in the process of upgrading and expanding its 4G LTE network in the hopes of coming closer to what Verizon, the league leader among wireless providers in our side of the world in terms of LTE coverage, has managed to achieve. As such, the carrier has announced that it is expanding its LTE coverage to three more markets and these locations are as follows:

  • Cheyenne, Wyoming
  • Cushing, Oklahoma
  • Florence, South Carolina

With this expansion, users of LTE-capable handsets in the lineup of AT&T such its variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note II can now make use of the phablet to take advantage of the benefits of the carrier’s LTE coverage such as faster overall speeds and general network robustness. Also, with this expansion, AT&T can say that there are now three fewer locations in its list of areas that are not blanketed by its LTE coverage yet.

Going back to the Samsung Galaxy Note II, the phablet relies on its Exynos 4412 Quad chipset to power its operations while its quad-core 1.6 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor and 2GB of RAM work together in making sure that the performance of the handset is always flawless. The storage space onboard the phablet comes up to 16GB but this can easily be expanded through the use of its microSD card slot. As for its display, the Samsung Galaxy Note II comes with a 5.5-inch SuperAMOLED HD panel with a 1280 x 720 resolution while its camera department boasts of a rear 8MP shooter and a front 1.9MP snapper.
