If you happen to have AT&T for your wireless provider of choice and have a Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket 4G for your handset, it would interest you to know that the carrier is doing an expansion of its LTE network. This means that your 4G LTE-capable device will now have a wider LTE playground to show its wares off and have you enjoying the ultrafast and consistent AT&T 4G experience.
As it stands, the LTE network of AT&T is now live in Waco, TX and Fayetteville, Springdale and Rogers, AR so users of the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket 4G in those areas can now take advantage of all the benefits of the carrier’s LTE network. The expansion now has AT&T LTE covering 53 markets in US shores and giving LTE access to 74 million Americans as of January 2012.
Though AT&T is still trailing behind Verizon in terms of LTE coverage in US shores, the carrier boasts that it has two 4G networks, LTE and HSPA+ with enhanced backhaul, which gives its customers access to fast 4G mobile data speeds even when they are outside of LTE coverage. AT&T further claims that with other carriers, you are on a much slower 3G network once you get outside LTE area – which is not the case for AT&T subscribers for that matter. This means that people rocking a Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket 4G will have consistently fast mobile data speeds whether they are in an LTE area or outside of it.
As for the Samsung Skyrocket 4G, this is the 4G LTE-enabled version of the Samsung Galaxy S II, the former Samsung flagship device last year. The handset is one of the first “true 4G” devices to be added to the lineup of AT&T alongside the HTC Vivid 4G. When you come to think of it, AT&T has marketed its handsets as 4G devices but in reality, these are just 3G and HSPA+ smartphones that are no match to a true 4G smartphone like the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket 4G.
The addition of the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket 4G to the lineup of the carrier was announced back in October of 2011 and the device made its debut in the shelves of the carrier a month later. The handset has its circuitry built around a QualComm MSM8260 SnapDragon chipset which brings dual-core capabilities to the device via its Scorpion processor clocked at 1.5 GHz. This processor is paired with a full gigabyte of RAM to ensure the flawless performance of the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket 4G while its storage space is pegged at 16GB. The internal memory of the handset can still be expanded though using its microSD card slot which can support up to 32GB. Display-wise, the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket 4G sports a SuperAMOLED Plus panel measuring 4.5-inches and has a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Its camera department is just as impressive with a rear-facing 8MP shooter capable of 1080p video capture and a front-facing 2MP video call and self-portrait camera. Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket is currently available starting at $79 at select online retailers.

Your very biased! You mentioned the vivid, but then made it out to be less of a phone than the sky rocket, when in fact it has the same specs. The vivid is Lte, has the same dual core processor, cameras, internal and external memory, boast the same pixels and was released at about the same time by att as the sky rocket. Most of all…. Its an HTC and in my book…… That makes it better!
