In terms of LTE coverage in our side of the world, Verizon has had a headstart in terms of lighting up its LTE network which in turn gave it a massive lead in terms of coverage over its competitors. Because of this, the LTE coverage of Verizon now had the breadth and width to cover more areas and give subscribers of Big Red a massive LTE playground. AT&T on the other hand which comes in at second place is still trying to play catch up in the hopes of at least minimizing the lead Verizon has.
In line with this, AT&T has come up with a massive expansionist plan that looks to cover more areas with its 4G LTE network. And to execute this plan, the wireless provider in turn announced that it has already turned on its LTE network in 5 more markets and these are as follows:
- Northwest, Georgia
- Albany, Georgia
- Cecil County, Maryland
- Montgomery County, Pennsylvania
- Norfolk, parts of Virginia Beach and Portsmouth, VA
With this expansion, AT&T subscribers who rock an LTE-supporting handset of the carrier such as the Nokia Lumia 920 4G can now experience all the benefits of the carrier’s LTE network such as faster mobile internet speeds and more reliable connections.
As for the Nokia Lumia 920 4G, the handset is the current flagship device of Nokia for the Windows Phone platform and is said to be one of the handsets of choice if you want to make the most out of the Windows Phone experience. The handset reached official status when its addition to AT&T’s portfolio of Windows Phone-powered devices was unveiled back in September of last year. The handset however took its sweet time before it finally made its first appearance and hit the shelves of the carrier in November.
It is now one of the best-selling Windows Phone handsets over at AT&T especially that the carrier has n offer that bundles a Wireless Charging Pad for every purchase of the handset at no additional cost. Design and aesthetics wise, the handset has dimensions of 130.3 x 70.8 x 10.7 mm and it tips the scales at a rather hefty catch weight of 185 grams.
Under the hood, the Nokia Lumia 920 4G also boasts of an impressive array of components thanks largely in part to its flagship status. The handset runs Windows Phone 8 for its operating system and this is powered by the device’s QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset (which incidentally is the same chipset found in the internals of the venerable Samsung Galaxy S III) which comes with a dual-core Krait processor clocked at 1.5 GHz and a full gigabyte of RAM. The storage space onboard the Nokia Lumia 920 4G comes up to a very generous 32GB of internal memory while its display is a 4.5-inch PureMotion HD+ ClearBlack IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels. Its dual-shooter configuration on the other includes a rear 8MP shooter and a front 1.3MP video call and self-portrait snapper.
