If you have been lusting after the AT&T HTC One X for the longest time and have been looking to make it your next mobile weapon of choice but have always been held back by its hefty price tag, things are about to change for that matter. In fact, the handset is now within reach because AT&T has already given the green light to its authorized resellers to give the HTC One X a healthy price cut.
With this in play, the current flagship device from the Taiwanese smartphone and tablet manufacturer is now easily within reach and all yours for the taking without having to break the bank or dent your budget too much. Of course, it goes without saying that you will required to sign a new two-year service agreement with AT&T to take advantage of the handset at its listed price. Even if you are averse to staying with a carrier for another two years, I’m pretty sure that will be the last thing on your mind once you get to see just how long the price point of the HTC One X has dropped.
As for the handset, it is not surprising at all that a lot of our smartphone-crased brethren have been so enamored with the HTC One X for the longest time despite the handset’s hefty price tag in the past. After all, the handset has the distinction of being the first smartphone in the world to be powered by a quad-core processor under the hood. This dates back to late last year when the handset was still known as the HTC Edge when it was still in rumor land.
During that time, the way of the world in the smartphone scene is for handsets to pack a dual-core processor under the hood. The HTC One X 4G aka the HTC Edge shattered all this when news of its existence leaked out. Since then, there was high anticipation for the handset but it had to go through several name changes in its time line before it finally got christened as the HTC One X when it was announced at Mobile World Congress back in February. When the handset hit the shelves of AT&T, it was already known as the HTC One X 4G as we all know it now.
As for the handset, it already runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for its operating system and is slated to get cranked up to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in the future. The operation of the handset is powered by its QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset in its internals and this brings a dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor and a full gigabyte of RAM into play. In terms of storage, the HTC One X 4G comes with 16GB of onboard storage while its display on the other hand is a 4.7-inch Super IPS LCD 2 panel with a 1280 x 720 resolution. Its camera department is just as impressive with the handset’s rear 8MP shooter and a front 1.3 MP snapper.
