If you happen to be a fanboy of the Windows Phone ecosystem, then you are most probably aware that there are only a handful of handsets currently available in the market running the new Windows Phone 8 operating system. In fact, if you are looking to get your hands on a high-end Windows Phone 8 device, you know that your options are quite limited because there are only two choices that you currently have – the Windows Phone 8X from Taiwanese OEM HTC and the Lumia 920 from Finnish smartphone manufacturer Nokia. There would have been a third option in the form of the Samsung ATIV but S but the handset is still as elusive as ever so we are scratching it off the list and sticking with the previous two.
Both the HTC Windows Phone 8X and the Nokia Lumia 920 are the flagship devices of their respective manufacturers and we all know that flagship handsets are more often than not fashioned from premium materials and the two handsets are not an exception to this. In addition to that, flagship devices also have the best components in their internals and this is also the case with these two. It seems that these two handsets are dead-locked for your attention should you be in the market for your next high-end Windows Phone handset but if you want to save a little more dinero on your purchase, we urge you to go the HTC way and get your hands on the AT&T variant of the HTC Windows Phone 8X instead.
As it stands, AT&T has put up its 8GB version of the HTC Windows Phone 8X on sale to entice the smartphone-buying population in getting their hands on the handset. After all, newer and more powerful devices such as the HTC One and the Samsung Galaxy S IV have already started hitting the shelves so carriers are bound to slash the price of their slightly older handsets – which seems to be the case right now.
At the moment, the price point of the AT&T HTC Windows Phone 8X has dropped down to almost free and the carrier has also given its authorized retailers the green light to sell the handset at this heavily discounted price point. Of course, those interested in taking advantage of this offer will be required to sign a new two-year service agreement with the carrier as customary.
For those interested to know more about the resume of the HTC Windows Phone 8X, the operation of the handset is powered by a QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset and this SoC gives the smartphone a dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor and a full gigabyte of RAM for a snappier and buttery-smooth performance. As mentioned earlier, the storage space onboard the HTC Windows Phone 8X is a bit meager at just 8GB while its display on the other hand is a 4.3-inch Super LCD2 panel with a 1280 x 720 resolution. Its dual-shooter configuration is just as impressive with its rear 8MP shooter and front 2.1MP video call and self-portrait snapper.

I’m done waiting on wp8, going android. When will manufacturers realize some of us won’t purchase a phone if we can’t expand memory or replace a battery?
