It looks like the imminent launch of the iPhone 5 in US shores has caused a spate of massive LTE expansion among the wireless carriers in our side of the world. It has been confirmed that Verizon has just lit up its LTE network in Colorado, Kansas and Georgia along with markets in California, Wyoming, Idaho, Ohio and Montana. In addition to that, Verizon will also expand its LTE coverage in existing markets in Illinois, Minnesota and Nebraska. With this development, Verizon is aiming to widen its lead on its closest competitor which happens to be AT&T.
AT&T for its part has no plans of getting left behind and eating the dust of Big Red and just a couple of days back, the wireless provider has already lit up its LTE network in Birmingham, Alabama and Memphis, Tennessee. And if you happen to rock a 4G LTE-capable Windows Phone device such as the Nokia Lumia 900, you will get to experience the speed boost in mobile internet brought about by the carrier’s LTE network.
In addition to giving residents of Birmingham and Memphis some LTE loving, AT&T is also very busy in getting other locations blanketed by its LTE network. In fact, reports from users are already coming in that they are already getting that LTE signal right next to the signal indicator on their respective devices.
We compiled a list of cities that are now enjoying AT&T’s 4G LTE network and these are a follows:
- Honolulu, Hawaii
- Seattle, Washington
- Pittsburgh, PA,
- Portland, Oregon
- Metro Detroit area
In addition to that, AT&T still has plans of getting at least 46 cities and regions get a taste of the carrier’s LTE network. Check out the list below and see if AT&T LTE is about to land on your area:

This means great news to users of the Nokia Lumia 900 4G because they now have more locations where they can take advantage of AT&T’s LTE network.
So despite the fact that the Nokia Lumia 900 4G is already on its way out with the arrival of its successor, the Nokia Lumia 920, the handset still has a lot to offer and can still take the game to the veritable bad boys of the smartphone competition.

Nice to see that you are expanding your areas. We live in AR just south of Branson MO. We are on the edge of 3G/4G service. Most cell services have a difficult time getting constant good reception in our area. We own sufficient acreage very high and would welcome the possibility of a tower on our property for future expansion. Our phone number is 870-426-9210 if you would like to contact us directly.
