As of the moment, the Nokia Lumia 920 is one of the two high-end devices currently available in the Windows Phone ecosystem along with the HTC Windows Phone 8X. Well, we could have said three but since the Samsung ATIV S is still missing in action, we are sticking with the other two mentioned above. As for the two handsets, both are flagship devices of their respective manufacturers and with this status means that both the Nokia Lumia 920 and the HTC Windows Phone 8X come with impressive components under their respective hoods.
As for the Nokia Lumia 920, the handset was released exclusively by AT&T in US shores and since hitting the shelves of the carrier back in November of last year, the Nokia flagship has become one of the best selling devices of the wireless provider. However, the good things going on for the Nokia Lumia 920 don’t end there. In fact, it is rumored that the handset is about to get the 1308 firmware update.
For those not in the know, the 1308 firmware update brings a lot of new features to the Nokia Lumia 920 and these include the ability to change the color intensity of the Nokia Lumia 920’s display, Storage fix options and camera improvements. Word on the street is that it is just a matter of time before the 1308 firmware update is rolled out to the Nokia Lumia 920 and the only thing missing in the equation for the rollout to commence is the green light from Ma Bell.
As it stands, the 1308 firmware update for the AT&T variant of the Nokia Lumia 920 is already sitting in the servers of the Finnish smartphone manufacturer and a nod from AT&T will get this unleashed to the handset. Using the Navifirm system for the AT&T Nokia Lumia 920, the 1308 firmware update was seen in the servers of Nokia as “RM-820 NDT America ATT” with the five color options of the handset (yellow, cyan, red, black and white) coming up as well. In addition to that the firmware is marked as 1232.5957.1308.1.
No mention of when this 1308 firmware update will exactly get rolled out but with it already in the servers of Nokia, we imagine it would be just a matter of time, a couple of weeks at the most, before it finally makes it way to the AT&T Nokia Lumia 920.
As for the handset, the AT&T variant of the Nokia Lumia 920 boasts of impressive components under the hood. it has its circuitry built around a QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset which brings to the handset a cual-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor and a full gigabyte of RAM.
