Verizon is still in the lead among wireless providers in US shores when it comes to LTE coverage with the breadth and width of its network. AT&T on the other hand is in the second spot but still has a lot of miles to cover if it hopes to be competitive with Big Red in terms of LTE coverage in our side of the world. With this in mind, AT&T has announced that its LTE network is now up and running in three new locations and these are as follows:
- Albuquerque, NM
- Reading, PA
- Salt Lake City, UT
These follows the lighting up of the carrier’s LTE network in more than a dozen new markets a couple of weeks back which include the following locations:
- Mobile, AL
- Jonesboro, AR
- Pensacola, FL
- South Bend and Mishawaka, IN
- Saratoga/Saratoga Springs, NY
- Columbus, OH
- Toledo, OH
- Eugene, OR
- Corvallis, OR
- Portland, OR
- Greenville, SC
- Columbia, SC
- Charleston, SC
- El Paso, TX
At the rate AT&T is going right now, it is just a matter of time before its LTE coverage reaches your neck of the woods so you will get to enjoy all the benefits of the carrier’s 4G LTE network such as blazing fast mobile internet speeds. This rapid expansion and deployment of its network is actually in line with the carrier’s announcement last month that AT&T is planning to spend approximately $14 billion in the rollout of its LTE network over the next three years.
So what does this LTE expansion mean for AT&T subscribers? This only means that the client base of the wireless provider who rock an LTE capable smartphone from AT&T like the carrier’s variant of the Samsung Galaxy Note II will get to enjoy all the benefits of its LTE network in more and more places in our side of the world.
As for the Samsung Galaxy Note II, this is the successor of the wildly successful Samsung Galaxy Note, the Korean electronics giant’s first generation phablet. The Galaxy Note II however no longer had naysayers when it was unveiled unlike in the case of its predecessor because the smartphone-buying population is already well aware of what the capabilities and components of the second generation Samsung phablet are.
Under the hood, the AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II is already running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for its operating system and this is powered by an Exynos 4412 Quad chipset. This SoC brings into play a quad-core 1.6 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor working in conjunction with a staggering 2GB of RAM in delivering the computing power required by the phablet for its flawless performance. The storage space onboard the phablet comes up to 16GB but this is still expandable using the Samsung Galaxy Note II’s microSD card slot. The display of the phablet is still its claim to fame with its 5.5-inch SuperAMOLED HD panel with a 1280 x 720 resolution while its camera department boasts of a rear 8MP shooter and 1.9MP snapper.
