Nokia used to be in the forefront of things in the smartphone competition a couple of years ago when the Finnish smartphone manufacturer’s E-Series line of devices were the rage in the smartphone town. This however got cut short when other manufacturers such as Apple, Samsung, HTC and other OEMs made their entry in the smartphone competition and began flooding the market with their respective devices. This relegated Nokia to the backseat while the other manufacturers had all the fun and of course all the profits in the market.
Nokia however had no plans of staying a spectator and began its bid of reclaiming its glory in the smartphone competition by entering into a strategic alliance with software giant Microsoft and started the production of smartphones for the Windows Phone ecosystem. The Finnish manufacturer started its bid to become relevant again in the smartphone market with the release of the Lumia 710 and Lumia 800 last year and then followed by the launch of the Lumia 900 4G in US shores back in April.
Striking while the iron is hot, Nokia is following through with the release of the Nokia Lumia 920 in our side of the world courtesy of AT&T where the handset is set to be an exclusive with the wireless provider. The Nokia Lumia 920 was launched by AT&T last November 9 and comes with a free wireless charging pad in its retail package making it a hot item among the Windows Phone fanboys in the client base of the carrier.
