AT&T is very good at offering some of the most popular and high end smartphones to its subscribers over the years and it all started when you could only get the iPhone from Apple on the AT&T network when it first came out. One of the newest smartphones to gain attention on the mobile market is the LG G Flex and it looks like if you were checking into that phone you might be able to pick it up this month on the AT&T network.
The LG G Flex is bringing a new trend to the smartphone market with a display that is curved from top to bottom, which the company claims is better ergonomically. The new smartphone will be ready to pre-order on the 24th of this month and that is one week ahead of when those on the Sprint network will be able to buy the same handset. Last week the confirmation came down that Sprint and AT&T would be selling the new LG G Flex for just $299 with a new two-year contract. T-Mobile is expected to make an announcement very soon as they will also be selling the smartphone.
Verizon Wireless is one mobile carrier in the United States that has not come forward to confirm the new smartphone, but that is expected as the company is notoriously slow at offering new smartphones to its subscribers. Since the date is actually for pre-ordering the smartphone, those that are thinking about getting it should realize that it might not ship until the 31st of January, which is what was reported from last week. Those that attended the Consumer Electronics Show this month might have gotten a chance to check out the new smartphone and even hold it.
LG claims the curved display will help with ergonomics, as well as give the phone a more durable body than other large smartphones on the market today. The LG G Flex comes with a huge, 5.9-inch touch screen display with a 720p HD resolution and a plastic protective surface rather than Gorilla Glass like many had hoped for. Even though the display is reportedly more durable, some are wondering about the long term wear and tear of the curved display after being dropped, sat on and everything else that most smartphones endure throughout the day.
