Nokia designed the Lumia 1020 Windows phone in a variety of colors, with a large True HD+ display, and a camera with the highest megapixel count of any smartphone snapper. Available on the AT&T network in the United States since late July of this year, the handset was recently spotted at the Amazon Wireless store with a substantially reduced retail price tag. Cyber Monday and the holiday shopping season are upon us, and to celebrate the holidays, Amazon has priced the powerful Windows phone starting around $75 on contract.

The Microsoft Windows Phone 8 operating system runs the show, with a polycarbonate form factor making for a durable handset. The display runs a large 4.50 inches, with that AMOLED screen delivering more than 16 million colors at the rate of 334 pixels over each inch of display space. This creates a better than True HD resolution at 768 by 1,280 pixels, and a polarizing filter guarantees excellent viewability, even in direct sunlight. A protective layer of scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 3 guards against dings and drops.
Special light and proximity sensors are on board, and they automatically perform certain display operations, which helps conserve battery power. This aids the 2,000 mAh battery in delivering 19.10 hours of talk time after a full charge. Nokia Lumia 1020 owners also benefit from more than two weeks of standby battery power. Wireless charging is supported, and the chip package is a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 set.
