Beats Audio technology has been showcased in some of the newer smartphones on the market and now it looks like the company is looking to get into the music streaming business.  According to one online source, Beats will be getting its own music streaming business going within the “next few months”.  In an interview, Luke Wood told an online source that the service would be accessible via the browser, iOS powered devices, as well as those that are running the Android operating system.  The first rumor of the new service came along way back in February 2012.

The service will have some stiff competition with Spotify, Rdio, iTunes and Pandora already offering very premium music streaming services much like it.  The details regarding the new service are not very clear right not and that includes the features that the service will provide or the price that it will cost consumers each month.  Typically, the service will give subscribers an option to get unlimited access to millions of tracks that they can stream live or download and listen to offline on devices or their computers.  Beats has been playing a big part with the partnership that it has with HTC lately.

The Beats Audio and HTC partnership started about one year ago and recently ended, although the HTC powered devices will still be getting the audio technology installed.  Beats also has partnerships with other companies like HP, which will be using the technology in more of the laptops that it produces.  Those that purchase HTC or HP devices will be getting exclusive incentives, but that may or may not be included with the Beats Music streaming service once it launches.  If Beats opens up a music storefront, for example, the HTC handsets could be easily integrated into the service and that would be a nice feature offered by the company.

Beats Music is still very much in the dark right now, but at least a company executive came forward to officially announce the service so that consumers are not wondering whether the company had forgotten about it over the last year.  The service could be offered for free much like Pandora with a few ads placed each hour, or it could offer a premium subscription that allows users to stream the music without ads and unlimited as long as they want.
