Good news is on its way for loyal blackberry users as RIM’s latest reports suggest that analysts have high hopes for the latest Blackberry 10 OS. RIM seems to be well aware of the fact that the brand Blackberry has a specific affinity attached to it; those who have used a blackberry once don’t seem to want to let go of it and even though the consumers have been disappointed with the lack of applications in the previous version of the Blackberry OS, BB10 has been designed to impress.

In an attempt to market the phone differently, the RIM is aiming at a slow and steady unveiling of the product rather than building secrecy as they realise that they need to gauge the consumer base and prioritize retaining their loyal consumer base. With features such as a better social media message retrieving system, TomTom navigation system and a brand new user interface, analysts are predicting a somewhat upbeat future for RIM.

In tune with their marketing strategy, RIM held a plush event at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier hotel based in Ottawa and extended invitations to about 250 bureaucrats and politicians to glide through a simple presentation and unveil a prototype to the audience, as well as to highlight the security aspects of the OS, which include a new cryptography system as well as special BB10 servers that have been declared as secure by the United States as well as Canada. Reluctant to reveal too much information, RIM is being rather careful in its approach to win over its loyal customer base with an outstanding product once more.

Though there have been doubts about the financial viability of the Blackberry 10 OS, the company has justified its position quite well by stressing on the fact that it has no debt and a fairly decent cash pile. As well known as it is that senators, bureaucrats as well as politicians would do well to be spotted with Blackberry’s rather than the iPhone or an Android, the smiling faces of the government-based information technology employees showcased their appreciation and eagerness for RIM’s latest offering.

Even though analysts still seem to be pessimistic about the overall health of the company in the long term, especially its competitiveness with respect to Windows Phone 8, Android and Google, the launch of BB10 has certainly piqued the interest of users, which may just mean that it will turn out to be the launching pad for a revival which RIM desperately seeks.
