The BlackBerry Z10 is being touted as the fastest, most powerful BlackBerry ever made. And that designation arrives in an atypical form factor for a BlackBerry smartphone. The Canadian smartphone manufacturing company formally known as RIM is so intent on basing their entire future success or failure primarily on smartphones that they have officially renamed themselves BlackBerry. And the new BlackBerry Z10 has been remade to offer a totally touchscreen driven user interface.
The Blackberry Z10 is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $99.99.
Instead of a small display above a physical QWERTY keyboard, the handset looks like typical iOS and Android powered devices. The large touch screen supports multitouch, capacitive gestures, giving you access to BlackBerry 10 operating system-specific applications like BlackBerry Hub, BlackBerry Keyboard, BlackBerry Messenger and a Time Shift mode for the camera. The BlackBerry Hub allows you access to all your conversations “at any time, from any app.” This is the location of all your messages from social networks and e-mails, and allows access without stopping what you are doing in another application.
The new virtual BlackBerry Keyboard uses built-in artificial intelligence to understand and learn your writing style, and suggests words to help you type more quickly. The virtual keyboard even remembers if you tend to mistype certain words, and will help you hit the right key. BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) allows you to move a text chat to a BBM video chat without missing any conversation, and the Screen Share supports hands-free voice-activated calling, and even works from the camera mode.
Speaking of the camera, the 8.0 megapixel camcorder on the back of the Z10 handset delivers all the normal features found on a mobile handset shooter, but also offers a unique Time Shift mode. It basically records a super short video only milliseconds long before and after you snap a picture. You can then choose the moment in time when the shot looks the best. You can also choose different areas of the photo, different expressions and poses, and add them together to make one perfect snapshot.
BlackBerry Remember organizes and manages your information, to do lists, tasks and memos. This function also syncs with Microsoft Outlook Tasks, as well as your Evernote account. The phone is currently discounted at Amazon on the AT&T network, and retails for around $99 on contract. The BlackBerry Z10 offers a large 4.2 inch LCD display with 1,280 x 768 pixels. Pixel density is high at 356 pixels per inch, and the handset delivers a 1.5 GHz dual core processor and 2 GB of RAM memory. 16 GB of internal storage is present, as well as a microSD slot for expansion.
You can purchase the Blackberry Z10 at a discounted price tag now starting at $99.99.
