motorola-logoThe Moto X has hit the market like a ton of bricks and after being marketed as the only customizable smartphone, it has garnered plenty of attention from consumers.  Now that the phone is available on all of the major mobile networks, it is time to see what Motorola has to offer next.  According to one online source, the smartphone maker could be bringing a similar smartphone to the market, only this time; it will be a little easier on the wallet.  The Moto G has reportedly been through some testing and has been spotted via trademark filing from Motorola.

The Verizon Motorola Moto X is also available at a reduced sale price at select online retailers starting at $99.99 at select online retailers.

The handset is likely to come with another name when it hits the market, but it is currently being referred to as the Moto G or the Moto DVX.  Since the Moto DVX was the name used in the FCC filing, that one could be the most likely to arrive.  Initial reports from the documents filed indicate that the Moto DVX will be equipped with a 4.5-inch AMOLED display, a dual-SIM card slot and Motorola’s new X8 computing system.  Other rumors suggest that the price could be in the $195 to $245 range.

The Moto DVX is not going to be as high end as the Moto X, but for a budget friendly device, it will get you what you need at a low price point.  Google has been talking about getting more devices to the lower end market, so the Moto DVX fits right into that mold.  Some might have thought that the FCC filing had to do with the Moto Giant, which is a rumored, 6.3-inch device, but that does not seem to be the case.  Motorola has not commented on the new device officially, but all of the reported information does line up with information read in the past.

There is talk that a small company called Republic Wireless offering the budget friendly smartphone, but that is just rumor at this point as well.  Republic Wireless offers the only $19 per month unlimited plan that requires subscribers to be connected to Wi-Fi more than 75 percent of the time in order to help keep costs down.  The company started with one handset and has slowly been developing others that have one common hardware feature, they can place calls via your Wi-Fi network. You can also purchase the Verizon Motorola Moto X handset at a discounted price tag at select online retailers starting at $99.99.
