The title to this article pretty much says it all. Motorola designers wanted to make a handset that disproved the theory that 4G LTE speeds and a large 4.30 inch screen required a big, heavy, bulky handset. They were very successful in their efforts, and the result is the compact Motorola Droid Razr M smartphone. The handset runs on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system in the United States, and delivers 40% more display and less body than similar phones with the same sized 4.30 inch screen.
The Motorola Droid Razr M is available at a reduced holiday price now starting at $0.01.
Aircraft grade aluminum framing surrounds the display which is pushed edge to edge and corner to corner, and that puts all the focus on that beautiful display. The rugged Kevlar back plate is back from previous Droid Razr models, as is the layer of Corning Gorilla Glass which deflects both scratches and scrapes. And if you get caught out in the rain or inadvertently spill your beverage, the Droid Razr M is protected by a water repellent nanocoating, extending protection to the electrical boards inside.
The Motorola Droid Razr M only a couple of weeks ago received an over the air update to the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system, and you have your choice of either black or white handset. To give you an idea of the physical footprint the handset makes, it is significantly narrower and shorter than the original Droid Razr 4G, yet delivers the same display size. The handset is NFC (Near Field Communications) supportive out-of-the-box, the Chrome for Android web browser has been pre-installed, and a YouTube video player joins a built-in music player in the multimedia package on board handset.
Measuring 4.82 x 2.40 x 0.33 inches (122.5 x 60.9 x 8.3 mm) in size and weighing 4.44 ounces (126 g), the Droid Razr M 4G is lighter, slimmer and more compact than other 4G smartphones with a 4.30 inch display. That 4.3 inch qHD Super AMOLED screen on the Motorola Droid Razr M 4G has a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels, and displays more than 16 million separate colors. DLNA wireless video out is present, and pixel density runs above average at 256 pixels per inch.
The long life battery delivers 40% more power than the iPhone 5, offering a very generous 20.0 hours of talk time from a single battery charge. Standby time is 17.0 days, and the handset is powered by a dual core 1.5 GHz CPU which is part of a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 microchip package. 1.0 GB of RAM memory is on board, as is 8.0 GB of built-in storage. A microSD slot provides storage expansion, with the built-in rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder recording video in 1,080P HD resolution. The Motorola Droid Razr M also delivers a Bluetooth Stereo music player out-of-the-box.
