droiddnaFor those of you that have the Droid DNA smartphone you might have been waiting for an Android update for a while and according to online sources, that update is coming very soon.  With only a couple of weeks left in the month of September, it looks like HTC will be getting an update to the device, but it will not be the one they originally promised.  A few weeks ago, HTC promised the it would be getting the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update to the Droid DNA via Twitter, but no exact date was given at the time.

HTC also claimed that the Verizon Wireless version of the HTC Butterfly, would be getting the Sense 5 update along with the new Android 4.3 software.  After taking a quick look at the Verizon Wireless website page setup for the Droid DNA, one user noticed that it was not going to be getting the Android 4.3, rather the device was in line for the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean software instead.  HTC has not confirmed or denied this , but a well known HTC insider is the one that leaked the information via Twitter.

Even though the Droid DNA, which was a flagship device over at Verizon Wireless when it arrived, is not getting the Android 4.3, at least it will be updated with Sense 5 user interface.  The well known HTC insider has been very accurate in the recent months about anything that has to do with HTC, so as of right now there is no reason not to believe the information he is passing along.  Even if the leak is incorrect, users will not know until HTC and Verizon actually release an update.  It was not that long ago that the same insider leaked information that the Droid DNA would be getting the Android 4.3 update along with Sense 5.5, which has yet to be announced by HTC.

The Droid DNA was released on the Verizon Wireless network back in November of last year and it was a hit as soon as it was on the shelf in local Verizon retail outlets.  Featuring a large, 5-inch touch screen display with full HD 1080p resolution, the Droid DNA was one of the first devices on the market with a 1080p resolution and 441ppi pixel density.  The phone also featured a quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and an 8MP camera.
