Behind mixed reports of whether the United States was going to see the Samsung Galaxy Nexus or not, websites have pointed straight to the sign-up page for customers in the United States. According to screenshots of the sign-up page, you can clearly see that other carriers are listed in a dropdown list along with Verizon. AT&T, Cellular South, Metro PCS, Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular and Verizon are all part of the list on the sign-up page. Some customers were hoping the Verizon was not the only carrier to get the phone and after conflicting replies on the Samsung Mobile USA Facebook page, it looks like the sign-up page says otherwise.
According to the Facebook page, updates were posted that Verizon was confirmed, only to be updated a little while later with “No US carriers determined yet”. Stay tuned for updates”. So it looks like Verizon was confirmed in the United States, then taken off the list shortly after the first update. In the coming weeks, there will be more information regarding where and when the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be released. If the sign-up page is anything to take into consideration, Samsung and Google could have one of the largest new launches of a smartphone ever. Hitting the shelves by 7 carriers could mean a huge jump in market share for Samsung and the new Android powered device.
According to additional reports, the new phone will likely be offered before the Black Friday holiday shopping season, which will boost sales without any doubt. Even though the phone is made by Samsung, it is branded as Google Nexus and that means Google kept a close eye on hardware and software and that says a lot about how Google wants to challenge the mobile market. Going up against Apple is no easy task, but the Samsung Galaxy Nexus could make waves in a hurry once launched.
Black Friday is going to be a good indicator as to whether either Apple or Google can take the number one spot in smartphone sales. The Galaxy Nexus will not likely hit the shelves until mid November and the iPhone 4S has been for sale a week or so, giving Apple a month or more lead on sales at this point. The new iPhone 4S is selling just as fast as any other iPhone that was launched. The exact release date and pricing for the Galaxy Nexus has yet to be announced.
UPDATE: Samsung updated their Facebook page with a post that says “My mistake, no U.S. carrier has been determined yet. Stay tuned for updates.” Looks like someone was a little too eager to post something.

Your headline is misleading and incorrect.

I have read the same thing, that Verizon will get the initial release of the Nexus and that Samsung themselves stated that other carriers may get the device further down the line. I read on a Samsung forum where the Verizon reps confirmed it as well.

Just to reiterate Gregg’s comment, your headline is misleading. A lot of Verizon folks are waiting to hear about confirmation for a Verizon release, and your headline is just plain false.

It is a fact that a Samsung employee confirmed the statement mentioned in this article but as it turns out, that employee retracted the statement. So at this point there is no official word from Samsung on just which carrier would carry the device that will launch in November. The statement along with the fact that they have a drop down menu on the sign up page listing carriers was a bit misleading. We apologize for the confusion.
