If you are still holding the Galaxy Nexus on the Verizon network, you could be in for a nice surprise sooner than later as the company confirms that Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is still coming for the device.  Google announced and release the Jelly Bean software a while ago already and even though many devices have already moved onto the Android 4.4 KitKat software, older devices are still getting added to the Jelly Bean update list.  Verizon recently made a comment that the 4.3 Jelly Bean update is still coming for the Galaxy Nexus.

Google released the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system back in July of this year and it came along with the Google Nexus 7 2013 model.  The update was just an incremental one, but those that are running Android device still wanted to make sure they got in line to check out the new improvements and features that the software would bring.  Because Android 4.1 and 4.2 seemingly left out a few things that many users expected, the 4.3 build was expected to fill many of those gaps.  Soon after the release, many devices started getting updated with the new software.

High end devices like the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, HTC One, Galaxy Note 2 and the Sprint Galaxy Nexus were just a couple of them that were updated right away.  A couple of the listed devices have moved forward to the Android 4.4 KitKat software already or will be getting it in the next 90 days.  The Galaxy Nexus on the Verizon Wireless network was the first to get the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update back in December 2011.  There is no way that Android 4.4 KitKat will be coming to the device, but getting bumped up to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean would be a nice surprise.

Now that Verizon Wireless has finally come forward and said that the update is “coming”, users will be excited to be updated, but unfortunately the company did not offer much more information than that at this time.  The odds are good that the software is being tested at this time and because it is on an older device it might be taking a little longer than the company first expected it to.  Just because Verizon said it was “coming” also does not mean that it will actually arrive, so keep that in mind.
