The global ready and compact Motorola Droid Razr M 4G Android smartphone is an anomaly in the smartphone marketplace in many ways. It delivers a large high-resolution 4.3 inch display, but is exceptionally small, thin and light compared to other 4G smartphones with that same size screen. The handset also currently offers a one penny price tag with a standard two-year contract, a price which we generally see on smartphones that are less than desirable, or do not offer the number of features presented by the Droid Razr M 4G.
The handset also offers access to networks in more than 205 countries around the world, and is exclusive to the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system in the United States. Verizon has stated that upload speeds of 2 to 5 megabits per second (Mbps) are possible. They also claim download speeds of 5 to 12 Mbps on the downlink in real-world, loaded network environments for the Droid Razr M 4G smartphone. The handset delivers the Chrome for Android mobile web browser out-of-the-box, and the phone is NFC capable as well.
Verizon offers a Visual Voicemail service which allows you to create up to 10 totally different caller ID-based greetings for your friends and contacts, and you can enjoy on-screen access to voicemail message status, while also saving up to 40 messages for 40 days. The Jelly Bean 4.1 Android operating system is present out-of-the-box, as is Google Maps with Navigation. Motorola engineers attained the compact form factor by minimizing the bezel around the display, and pulling that display from edge to edge.
This has created overall dimensions of 4.82 x 2.40 x 0.33 inches (122.5 x 60.9 x 8.3 mm), and an overall weight of 4.44 ounces (126 g). That makes the Droid Razr M smaller, thinner and lighter than all other Droid Razr handsets since the original Droid Razr 4G appeared, and the large 4.3 inch qHD Super AMOLED on board the phone delivers a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. Pixel density runs above average at 256 pixels per inch, with more than 16 million independent colors used when rendering visuals displays.
That screen is protected against scratching by a layer of Gorilla Glass, and standard capacitive, multitouch gestures are used to navigate the handset. In the tradition of other Droid Razr smartphones, talk time from a single charge is excellent at 20.0 hours. The handset offers popular applications YouTube and Picasa as preinstalls, and video capture runs 1,080P HD resolution with the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camera. The CPU is a 1.5 GHz dual core chip, 8.0 GB of internal storage are present, and a microSD slot provides storage expansion opportunity.
