Google+ has been around a couple of years now and was really going to take on the Facebook’s of the world, but the audience is very different in terms of age and profession. This week Google announced that it would be updating the social network with specific improvements in the photography department. The event that Google that many thought would be for showcasing the new Android 4.4 KitKat software was really for the Google+ update, leaving many to wonder when they will see the new software outlined before it is ready for downloading.
At an event earlier this year, Google revealed a new feature called “Auto-Awesome” that allows users to make their photos beautiful automatically and with very little effort. This week, that same feature was announced for the videos that you can share via Google+. Bringing the Auto Awesome feature to videos was not the only thing that Google wanted to talk about and that had to do more with editing videos. Video Highlight reels and action shots can be created behind the scenes to make all your videos look very professional. If you are familiar with HTC’s Zoe application, you will then known exactly what you have coming via the Google+ update.
Users can now edit photos right inside of Google+ and it has become easier than ever before. Other video features include Eraser, Motion, Action, Auto Enhance and other new editing features, plus you will now have access to full resolution backups. All of these fine features and enhancements are completely free, making Google+ even more appealing especially to the millions that love to take and share photos online. You will never have to worry about losing your photos when all you have to do is sync them to Google+ and they will be there for you to edit and share.
Photos can be synced in private mode or made public right away and that is an option that you can turn on and off on each photo. Taking photos is fun and exciting most of the time, but when you are doing so in public and people are getting in the way, the photos can be ruined. One feature with Google+ now allows you to take a series of photos and the software will automatically remove the people that do not belong there, essentially removing the “photobomb” aspect of shooting in public.
