droidrazrmaxxhdThe Motorola Droid Razr MAXX HD is a 4G LTE device running on Verizon’s 4G LTE network in the US. The phone delivers a large high-resolution screen, speedy dual core processor and high resolution video capture. It also arrives in a skinny but durable form factor, and provides you with some security measures to help protect your sensitive personal information. Let’s take a look at exactly how you can harness this security package.

Smartphones these days generally have some type of screen lock. To add a screen lock to your Droid Razr MAXX HD, you have to head into your handset’s Settings. The screen lock is not preset, but you do have a choice of many options here. Once in Settings, tap on Security. You’ll then see Screen Lock, and when you access this option you are presented with a choice of Swipe, Number unlock, Face unlock, or Pattern. I personally prefer the number option, but you can choose whichever of these screen locks you desire to help you limit access to your handset.

You can also customize your lock screen, by heading to Settings > Security > Lock Screen options. This allows you to set up shortcuts and customize your lock screen. Another security minded feature the Droid Razr MAXX HD delivers, but doesn’t offer preset out-of-the-box, is a government level data encryption package. When turned on, this data protection will protect your sensitive personal information automatically. We are going to head back to Settings > Security, and then tap on either Encrypt device or Encrypt SD card.

There is also a remote hard drive wipe which allows you to erase your handset hard drive from any Internet powered computer. This is a great feature if your handset becomes lost or stolen, and allows you to immediately protect your information from data thieves. The Droid Razr MAXX HD was launched in October of 2012, and though it is exclusive in the United States to the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network, the phone is actually global ready for 3G and GSM networks in more than 205 countries around the world.

The handset was recently spotted at the Amazon Wireless store for a retail price of $99 on contract, and the slim 0.37 inch (9.3 mm) form factor is home to a large 4.70 inch display. The water resistant smartphone offers a resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels, delivered at 312 pixels per inch. The extended life smartphone battery delivers a generous 27.0 hours of streaming music, 13.0 hours of video playback and a full 21.0 hours of talk time from a single charge, and can charge in as few as four hours.
