The HTC One X is, despite its aging status, still one of the best handsets being offered by AT&T right now. It boasts of powerful components under the hood that enable it to being an even more impressive set of capabilities to the table. The power in its hood comes from a quad-core processor in its internals which in turn gets support from a full gigabyte of RAM. However, not many people know that the HTC One X is actually the first handset in the world to come with a quad-core processor to power its operation.
The HTC One X+ is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $79.99.
This dates back to late 2011, a time when quad-core powered handsets were still plans in the drawing boards of manufacturers. HTC however went ahead and drew first blood in the quad-core arena when news about the existence of what was back then known as the HTC Edge leaked out. The handset however went through several name changes before it finally settled for the HTC One X moniker when it was unveiled a year ago at Mobile World Congress 2012 and was subsequently released by AT&T in US shores as the HTC One X 4G.
However, that is not the only good thing going on for the HTC One X right now. Because of its powerful internals, the handset is also capable of being a gaming platform and the next piece of news will appeal to the hard-core gamers out there who also use their handsets for playing games. As it stands, the HTC One X is going to be the recipient of a free game every week this February courtesy of HTC and Playstation Mobile.
And the best part is that all you have to do is download the Playstaion Mobile app onto your HTC One X and set up your Sony Entertainment Network account and you will already be on your way to using your handset to download the free game on offer. That’s it, 2 easy steps and no complicated hoops to jump through. The only caveat here is that your HTC One X should already be running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for its operating system with Sense 4+ overlaid atop it for everything to work properly.
As for the HTC One X 4G released by AT&T in US shores, the handset got added to the handset base of the carrier in February last year but it wasn’t until May before the handset finally made it to the shelves. Under the hood, the circuitry of the handset is built around its QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset which comes with a dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait processor and a full gigabyte of RAM. The storage space onboard the HTC One X 4G is pegged at 16GB but sad to say, this is all you get because the handset doesn’t support memory expansion. Display-wise, the HTC One X 4G sports a 4.7-inch SuperIPS LCD2 panel with a 1280 x 720 resolution while its camera department boasts of a rear 8MP shooter and a front 1.3MP snapper.
You can purchase the HTC One X+ at a discounted price tag now starting at $79.99.
