HTC Droid DNA 4G Packs Jelly Bean, Quad Cores, 5.0 Inch High Res Display

Dual core processors are so “last year”. While dual core processors on smartphones provide a much quicker experience and better multitasking abilities than single core phones, quad core processors double that speed and multifunctionality. The Droid DNA by HTC delivers a quad core CPU, double the amount of RAM memory typically found on a smartphone, the new Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system and a sleek design. Also included is one of the largest screens and one of the highest resolutions found on any mobile handset.

The polycarbonate unibody is tough, slim and light, with a unique ultra-matte finish and distinctive red side grills. Built-in wireless charging and an above average 12.6 hours of talk time from a single battery charge make the handset extremely portable, and HTC has included the fantasy realm game Reign of Amira for instant access out-of-the-box. The handset runs on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network in the US, and enhances your audio experience with the exclusive Beats Audio sound package that delivers a 2.5 volt headset amp and dedicated speaker amps.

The handset is as small as possible considering it delivers a large 5.0 inch screen, as HTC has pulled the display from edge to edge and corner on the front of the handset. At only 0.38 inches (9.73 mm) in thickness the handset is much slimmer than comparable 4G models. The touchscreen display on board the HTC Droid DNA is a 5.0 inch ImageChip ISP S-LCD 3 model, delivering an industry-leading 1,080 x 1,920 pixel resolution and 441 pixels per inch pixel density.

A built-in YouTube video player and built-in music player join the Beats Audio full range sound system in the multimedia package on board the HTC Droid DNA 4G, and the handset is powered by a quad core 1.5 GHz Krait CPU. That chip is part of a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 microchip package, and included is an Adreno 320 graphics processor. 16 GB of storage are built-in, and the Droid DNA 4G also delivers a full 2.0 GB of RAM system memory.

The HTC Droid DNA 4G for Verizon can currently be found during the Amazon Wireless holiday sale, listing for approximately $149 on contract in the Amazon Wireless store. The Droid DNA delivers a built-in LED flash and f/2.0 lens aperture, which combined with a back illuminated sensor (BSI) offers excellent performance in low light situations. That rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder records video in 1,080P HD resolution, with the front facing 2.1 megapixel chat cam offering video call support. Near Field Communications (NFC) access is offered out-of-the-box, as is mobile hotspot connectivity for multiple wireless devices.
