htcdroiddnaThe HTC Droid DNA 4G Android smartphone arrived on November 21 of this year on the 4G LTE system of Verizon. Verizon Wireless was recently praised as the top wireless service provider in the United States by Consumer Reports, and the HTC Droid DNA has a powerful quad core processor extremely capable of successfully harnessing the speedy Verizon 4G LTE network. In a sleek black design which is a nice departure from the standard Android phone style, the HTC Droid DNA delivers a large extremely high resolution screen, Beats Audio sound system and high resolution video capture in a slim profile.

The HTC Droid DNA is available for a reduced holiday price now starting at $49.99.

Running the Jelly Bean 4.1 operating system with the HTC Sense user interface, the Droid DNA delivers a tough polycarbonate unibody. The ultra-matte finish and distinctive red side grills join a laminated screen that eliminates reflection for a striking visual package. The handset also delivers a large 5.0 inch true HD display, and the HTC Droid DNA delivers the high definition fantasy realm game Reign of Amira as a pre-install ready for use right out-of-the-box.

The handset is slim at 0.38 inches (9.73 mm), and the Beats Audio arrives with dedicated speaker amplifiers. The display mentioned earlier is a 5.0 inch ImageChip ISP S-LCD 3 model with industry-leading 1,080 x 1,920 pixel resolution and incredible 441 pixels per inch pixel density. More than 16 million colors are employed when rendering visuals, and that capacitive, multitouch screen is protected by a layer of scratch resistant Gorilla Glass.

Talk time runs approximately 50% better than the typical 4G smartphone, with 12.6 hours provided from a single battery charge. Powering the handset is a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 microchip package, centered around the powerful quad core 1.5 GHz CPU. An Adreno 320 graphics processor is also on board, with 16.0 GB of data storage built-in. At twice the industry average, the HTC Droid DNA 4G delivers a full 2.0 GB of RAM system memory.

Popular applications YouTube and Picasa have been built in, as has a music player which filters by album title, artist name and play lists. Video capture runs 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (1,080p HD resolution) via the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder, and a front facing chat cam is present for video calls. That rear facing camcorder comes equipped with an extensive special effects and features package, and the HTC Droid DNA delivers Near Field Communications (NFC) support out-of-the-box. The handset currently retails for around $149 on contract during the Amazon Wireless holiday sale.

You can purchase the HTC Droid DNA now starting at $49.99.
