The HTC Droid DNA delivers one of the most impressive hardware and software packages ever found on a smartphone. Officially announced and released last November, it has been spotted online with a one penny on contract price tag, a retail that certainly does not illustrate the multitalented, powerful abilities of the handset. Running on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system in the United States, the multimedia machine offers one of the highest pixel densities ever achieved for a smartphone, as well as one of the largest displays, the exclusive Beats Audio sound enhancement and a powerful quad core processor.

The Droid DNA 4G Jelly Bean Android powered handset also recently received free Verizon Cloud backup. The new service offered by Verizon for some of their smartphones immediately and daily backs up important information like your contacts to the virtual Verizon Cloud. This ensures that if your handset is ever misplaced or stolen, or you simply upgrade, porting your information and data will be painless. There is a free amount of data backup offered, and a subscription upgrade for extra data space. The popular streaming online video service Hulu Plus also recently upgraded their support to the HTC Droid DNA for Full HD 1,080P display resolution.
As mentioned above, the Droid DNA 4G offers one of the highest pixel densities and screen resolutions of any smartphone ever designed. However, until this latest Hulu Plus support, subscribers to that video streaming service had to be happy with 720P resolution. That is like owning the world’s fastest race car, but with a governor on the engine that only lets you go 15 mph. Not anymore. Now, any movies or videos which have been recorded in Full HD 1,080P resolution glory can realize their full potential on the big, high resolution movie screen the DNA 4G offers.
That display measures a full 5.0 inches, and pixel density runs 441 pixels per inch. That means that over each inch of display space, a full 441 color pixels are present. More than 16 million separate colors are used to render visual displays on the DNA 4G, and typical capacitive, multitouch gestures are used for navigation. The powerful hardware package does not make the handset heavy, bulky or thick, however, as it weighs just 4.87 ounces (138 g), little more than a McDonald’s Quarter Pounder hamburger.
Decidedly slimmer, the Droid DNA 4G delivers an ultra-thin 0.38 inch (9.73 mm) profile. Facing the user is a beautiful 5.0 inch ImageChip ISP S-LCD 3 display with 1,080 x 1,920 pixel Full HD resolution, a screen which is protected by a scratch resistant layer of Gorilla Glass 2. A 1.5 GHz quad core CPU powers the handset, 2.0 GB of RAM is on board, as is 16 GB of data storage. Video capture runs 1,080P HD resolution with the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder.
