The HTC Droid DNA running on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system in the United States and launched on November 21 is basically HTC’s “kitchen sink” smartphone. HTC included everything but the kitchen sink when it comes to high flying hardware, software and applications, with a quad core processor, double the average RAM memory of a typical smartphone, extremely high pixel density and one of the largest high resolution screens found on any mobile handset.
The HTC Droid DNA is on sale now starting at $99.99.
Announced on November 13, and delivered on November 21, the HTC Droid DNA 4G Android smartphone is a dual mode CDMA/GSM phone with Near Field Communications (NFC) wireless connectivity offered out-of-the-box. And the hardware package has to rank among the top smartphones in comparison, as it contains a full 2.0 GB of RAM system memory and a powerful quad core 1.5 GHz Krait central processor. The handset also delivers 16 GB of built-in storage and an Adreno 320 graphics processor that is part of the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 microchip package which powers the handset.
The HTC Droid DNA is currently offered by online retailer Amazon during their Black Friday and holiday sales events for $199 on contract, and the incredible pixel density of 441 pixels every inch on the mammoth 5.0 inch edge to edge screen is absolutely breathtaking. The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system is present out-of-the-box, and meshes with the HTC Sense 4+ user interface, supporting capacitive, multitouch gestures. The HTC Droid DNA handset is slim at 0.3 inches (9.73 mm), and weighs approximately 4.87 ounces (138 g).
The large 5.0 inch ImageChip S-LCD 3 ISP display has an extremely high resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels, one of the highest found on any mobile PC, tablet, laptop or smartphone. Delivered at the above-mentioned 441 pixels per inch, easily the highest pixel density of any smartphone, that display also represents visuals in more than 16 million individual colors. A scratch resistant layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protects the screen, which comes with built-in light and proximity sensors for battery conservation.
The extended life cell on board the handset is a 2,020 mA model, and up to 12.6 hours of talk time is received from a single battery charge. Standby battery power runs approximately 15 days, and the rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder provides video capture at 1,080P HD resolution. The front facing 2.1 megapixel chat cam contains a wide-angle lens, also delivering video call functionality. The full range Beats Audio sound package is on board the handset, and a built-in YouTube video player is also preloaded onto the HTC Droid DNA Jelly Bean 4.1 smartphone.
You can purchase the HTC Droid DNA now starting at $99.99.

Buying a DNA would be like buying a Porsche without wheels and 2 gallon fuel tank. Looks Great with a great motor. Very stylish, but you can’t get far with it.
Really…11GB of usable storage & sub par battery? Would be a great phone with the addition of a removable storage slot and a battery that could power it all day.

I bought the DNA three days ago. Incredible device. The screen is so good, it’s amazing. The battery actually lasted 2 full days under heavy usage (talk and lots of browsing as we were using Google navigation a lot just traveling around). It has a large screen, but it’s very thin, and it still fits into my pocket.
I don’t know what some people consider good storage, but I see on it 12Gb of free space. That’s freaking 12Gb, more than I have on my PC! No complaints there, plenty of space for everything. I can also read my Kindle books on it, since the screen is so crisp and big. The DNA is incredibly fast, especially on Verizon 4GLTE. I watched the Gangnam Style video on it as if it were TV, it’s unbelievable fast. I truly did not expect it to be so fast. The sound is Beats Audio, probably the best sound system of any smart phone out there. And using productivity suite (documents, spreadsheets) actually is possible on this phone, due to size, quality and speed.
All in all, I think HTC DNA is going to be a hit out there, since it goes for only $199. What you get for it is worth ditching IPhone IMO. I was considering buying an Iphone, but once I had a test run on DNA, I decided to go for it. In my case, having Google Maps was one of the most important factors. Due to the speed of this phone, it gives you instructions with uncanny accuracy.
