Released on April 28th for the Verizon Wireless network, the HTC Droid Incredible 2 Android smartphone was one of the first mobile handsets to offer a 1 GHz central processor, 768 GB of RAM memory, a 4.0 inch and an 8.0 megapixel camcorder. HTC also designed the Droid Incredible 2 with their Sense User Interface that effectively meshes with Android’s operating systems to offer one of the better smartphone user experiences in the entire mobile marketplace.
The HTC Sense UI consolidates social media favorites Facebook, Twitter and Flickr updates and delivers them to a single screen. Other integrated features exist in the form of People Widgets, which allow you to track by profile pictures or latest updates and messages right on your home screen. And if you lose your phone, you can locate it on a map on any computer and have the phone sound an alert, even when in silent mode. For privacy issues, you can even wipe out all of the phone’s data if it is lost or stolen with a single command, as well as forward calls or text messages to a different number.
The HTC Droid Incredible 2 is average in size and weight when compared to other smartphones, and comes equipped with Android’s Froyo 2.2 OS out-of-the-box, but an over the air update to the Gingerbread 2.3.4 operating system is available. The 4.0 inch screen mentioned earlier is a capacitive multitouch display, and offers 480 x 800 pixel resolution to the S–LCD screen. Standard light and proximity sensors are built into the display.
Buy the HTC Droid Incredible 2 starting at only one penny, and through midnight December 31st, you can receive a free $100 Amazon gift card if you activate your mobile hotspot service at the time of purchase.
Talk time runs 6.50 hours from a single battery charge, and a Qualcomm MSM8655 Snapdragon microchip set is on board, consisting of a 1.0 GHz Scorpion central processor and Adreno 205 graphics processing unit. 768 GB of RAM memory is also present, and rounds out the hardware profile. The 8.0 megapixel rear facing camcorder mentioned earlier comes equipped with a dual LED flash, and offers autofocus, geo-tagging, special effects and face detection features. That rear camcorder offers video capture at 720P HD, and comes equipped with a video light for low light recording. The front facing 1.3 megapixel chat cam also supports video calls.
The online audio player can filter by play list, album or artist, and an FM radio is pre-installed. A proprietary YouTube video player is also on board. The HTC Droid Incredible 2 Android smartphone recently received a retail price drop to one penny at select Verizon authorized retailers with a standard two-year activation, and is exclusive to the Verizon Wireless network.
