The Verizon Wireless 4G LTE system in the United States is the home to the HTC Droid Incredible 4G smartphone, where it debuted on July 5 of this year. Delivering the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system out-of-the-box, the handset is more compact and lighter than most 4G LTE smartphones. However, the Droid Incredible 4G LTE still offers a large screen, high pixel density and resolution, high-resolution video capture and above average talk time from a single charge. The handset measures 4.82 x 2.40 x 0.46 inches (122 x 61 x 12 mm) and weighs 4.66 ounces (132 g).
The HTC Droid Incredible 4G is on sale now starting at 9.99.
The Super LCD multitouch, capacitive touchscreen is 4.00 inches and protected against scratching and chipping by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass. Pixel density runs 275 pixels per inch, above average for a 4G smartphone, and overall screen resolution is delivered at 540 x 960 pixels. A proximity sensor is built into the display, and dims the screen brightness when the handset is lifted to your head to make or receive a voice call. This helps conserve battery life, and the built-in light sensor offers auto brightness adjustment. DLNA wireless video out connectivity is also on board.
Thanks to those battery conservation features, the 1,700 mA battery on board delivers 18.6 days of standby time, as well as 9.57 hours of talk time from a single charge, approximately 20% higher than the typical 4G smartphone. The Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon package on board has at its core a dual core 1.2 GHz Krait central processor and Adreno 225 graphics chip, and the handset delivers 1.0 GB of RAM system memory. 8.0 GB of data storage are built in, and the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE smartphone also contains a microSD slot with microSDHC support, allowing access to data cards up to 32 GB in size.
