The HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE Android smartphone is the latest in a long line of impressive, popular and best-selling Droid handsets. The first Motorola Droid launched on October 17, 2009, with the original HTC Droid Incredible arriving a scant six months later on April 29, 2010. That original Droid Incredible was very similar to the HTC Evo 4G that was released on the Sprint network two months later, and the current HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE arrives in the familiar current smartphone form factor, as a slim, rectangular slab. Launching in July of this year, the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE provides a large screen without a heavy, bulky body, also offering the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system out-of-the-box.

The handset measures 4.82 x 2.40 x 0.46 inches (122 x 61 x 12 mm) and weighs 4.66 ounces (132 g), with a 4.00 inch touch screen and 540 x 960 pixel resolution. Delivered at an above average 275 pixels per inch, the display is protected by a layer of scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass which also provides glare reduction. That Super LCD screen on board the Droid Incredible 4G supports capacitive, multitouch gestures for device navigation, and standard light and proximity sensors adjust automatically for proper brightness and help conserve battery life. Those battery conservation efforts allow for approximately a 20% better than average 4G smartphone talk time delivery from a single battery charge, at 9.57 hours. Standby time runs approximately 18.6 days.

The hardware package on board the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE includes a Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon chip set, centering around a dual core 1.2 GHz Krait central processor. Graphics processing is handled by a separate Adreno 225 GPU, and 1.0 GB of RAM system memory is built-in. The handset delivers 8.0 GB of built-in storage, and the microSD slot on board also offers microSDHC support for cards up to 32 GB in size. MicroHDMI video out is provided by the built-in microUSB slot, and video mirroring is also offered wirelessly through DLNA access. The handset offers access to wireless applications like Google Wallet and Android Beam through the Near Field Communications (NFC) support it delivers out-of-the-box.

A VGA quality chat cam faces the user, and an 8.0 megapixel high-resolution camcorder is around back. Delivering an LED flash and a back illuminated sensor (BSI) makes for excellent low light camera operation, and that rear camcorder provides 1,080P HD resolution video recording in stereo sound. The full range Beats Audio sound system joins a YouTube video player and built-in music player in the multimedia package on board the handset.  The new Droid Incredible 4G LTE smartphone has already had a price cut at select online retailers.  View the reduced price of the HTC Droid Incredible 4G here.
