The HTC Evo 4G LTE smartphone launched on June 2 of this year with one of the largest high resolution screens found on any smartphone, and is one of the first mobile handsets to deliver simultaneous HD image and video capture. But it was another six weeks until the handset was able to access its powerful processor and LTE connectivity properly. That is when Sprint went live with their 4G LTE network in the United States, and the handset is now exclusive to that carrier and that platform, and is currently priced as their most inexpensive handset on contract. The Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system is available out-of-the-box, and is enhanced by the HTC Sense 4.0 UI Android overlay.

The HTC Evo 4G is on sale now starting at 79.99.

The HTC Evo 4G is slim and light when compared to all other smartphones, measuring 5.31 x 2.71 x 0.35 inches (134.8 x 68.9 x 8.9 mm) and weighing 4.73 ounces (134 g). With a handy kickstand built into the back of the handset which allows for hands-free viewing of videos and movies, the Evo 4G LTE delivers a display resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels, broadcast at 312 pixels per inch. More than 16 million individual colors are used to create visuals, and the Super IPS LCD2 capacitive touchscreen offers excellent resolution even at extreme viewing angles and in bright sunlight, and is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass.

A talk time of 7.5 hours is achieved from a single charge of the 2,000 mA battery on board the HTC Evo 4G LTE, and the hardware profile includes a Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon suite of microchips centered around a powerful dual core 1.5 GHz Krait CPU. The speed of that powerful processor is further accentuated on the LTE network by the presence of an Adreno 225 which handles all graphics processing, allowing the CPU to focus on more important processes and user requests. 1.0 GB of RAM system memory is on board, as well as 16 GB of storage built into the handset. The microSD slot also provides microSDHC support, accepting cards up to 32 GB in size.

The rear facing 8.0 megapixel camcorder offers face and smile detection, an LED flash, autofocus, geo-tagging and a special effects package. Image capture is provided nearly instantly, in just 0.7 seconds, and that rear facing camera is joined by a 1.3 megapixel camcorder on the front of the handset in the camera combo. The HTC Evo 4G LTE smartphone also delivers the full range Beats Audio sound package, a YouTube video player, a built-in music player and a Stereo FM radio with RDS song title, artist and album display.

Buy the HTC Evo 4G LTE now starting at 79.99.
