As the first handset to deliver simultaneous HD video and image capture on the Sprint wireless network, the HTC Evo 4G LTE Android handset is a landmark device. The rear facing 8.0 megapixel high-resolution camcorder on the Evo 4G LTE that provides that feature also allows for nearly instant image capture, providing snapshots in only 0.7 seconds. The camera software also allows the ability to collect multiple shots in rapid succession, and the F/2.0 lens pulls in approximately 40% more light than the average 4G smartphone camera. Coupled with the built-in LED flash, that lens provides excellent low light camera operability.

But the HTC Evo 4G LTE is much more than just a great camera on an LTE capable handset. The device delivers a large screen and extremely high-end resolution, fast dual core processor, Bluetooth stereo music and a built-in kickstand. That kickstand built into the back of the handset was a fan favorite on previous Evo models, and obviously delivers convenient hands-free viewing of videos and movies. The HTC Evo 4G LTE also delivers the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) operating system out-of-the-box, and meshes that with its Sense version 4.0 user interface.

The Evo 4G LTE is slim at 0.35 inches (8.99 mm), and relatively light for a 4G smartphone at only 4.73 ounces (134 g). The 4.70 inch Super LCD 2 screen is one of the largest found on any smartphone, and pixel density runs 312 pixels per inch, while visuals are rendered in more than 16 million colors. Light and proximity sensors are built in, and offer auto brightness adjustment and battery conservation, and that display is protected by an overlay of treatment.

Talk time runs from 8 to 12 hours on a single charge of the 2,000 mA battery on board the handset, and the dual core central processor mentioned earlier is a Krait CPU that has been clocked at 1.5 GHz. A separate Adreno 225 chip is responsible for all graphics processing, and 16 GB of storage are built into the Evo 4G LTE. 1.0 GB of RAM system memory is on board, and the built-in microSD slot accepts up to a 32 GB card. The rear camcorder mentioned above records video at 1,080P HD, and the front facing 1.3 megapixel chat cam also provides video call support. The handset includes a multimedia package which offers the full range Beats Audio sound system, a built-in music player, and pre-installed YouTube video player.  You can buy the HTC Evo 4G LTE starting at $129.
