In today’s smartphone world, the ongoing trend for handsets that get released in the market is for them to usually come in a black paint job. To some, this is perfectly acceptable because the black colorway of a handset usually gives off an impression of being solidly-built while at the same time makes the said handset look classy and elegant to a certain extent. However, others see this as a detriment because this black paint job usually makes a handset virtually indistinguishable to other smartphones in the pack. In addition to that, though it makes colorway usually gives a handset the impression of looking like an ugly slab of black plastic.

The HTC Evo 4G LTE is available for a reduced price tag now starting at $0.01.

This is the reason why manufacturers have gotten into the habit of releasing a handset, especially their high-end devices, in other colorways aside from the very common black paint job. Take the case of the Samsung Galaxy S III for example. When the Samsung flagship device hit the shelves back in the latter parts of May, the handset was only available in a Marble White and Pebble Blue paint job. The Korean electronics giant however later on released other colorways for the handset which inevitably included black among these new paint jobs.

This seems to be the case for the HTC EVO 4G LTE as well which was released by Sprint in US shores. The handset initially was released in black paint job when it first made its debut in the shelves of the Now Network but the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer also got around to launching the handset covered in a lily-white paint job. This at least gave potential buyers of the handset options as to which colorway of the handset they would prefer.

As for the Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE, the handset gained infamy when it got held up at the US Customs prior to its released in US shelves while the International Trade Commission subjected the handset to a thorough investigation and review following Apple’s lawsuit that claimed that the HTC handset infringed on some of its patents. Google and HTC were quick to step in however and revisited the firmware of the handset to take off the infringing code. Only then did the handset got the greenlight to continue on its journey to the shelves of the Now Network and ultimately to the hands of its eager subscribers.

Under the hood, the handset’s circuitry is built around a QualComm MSM8960 SnapDragon chipset which brings to the HTC EVO 4G LTE a dual-core Krait processor clocked at 1.5 GHz and a full gigabyte of RAM. Storage space on the handset is pegged at 16GB and the HTC EVO 4G LTE also comes with a dedicated microSD card slot in its chassis for memory expansion purposes. As for its display, the handset sports a 4.7-inch Super IPS LCD 2 panel with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels while its camera department boasts of a main 8MP shooter at its back panel and a 1.3MP video call and self-portrait snapper at its front bezel.

The HTC Evo 4G LTE is available for a discounted price tag now starting at $0.01.
