The HTC One is currently undergoing an update to the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system. The update began in Taiwan and is headed west, and will tie the score with the popular Samsung Galaxy S4 as far as operating systems go. The Galaxy S4 delivers the 4.2.2 OS out-of-the-box, but with industry-leading pixel density, groundbreaking UltraPixel camera technology and 32 GB of built-in data storage space, the HTC One 4G is arguably a more attractive smartphone purchase.

The handset launched in late April and has already passed the 5 million global units sold mark, and when it receives the 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system the US HTC One running on AT&T ($49 on contract) could steal substantial market share from the Galaxy S4 ($149 on contract from AT&T). The HTC One for AT&T arrives in a skinny 0.37 inch (9.3 mm) form factor, delivering a large 4.7 inch Super LCD3 screen offering a full 468 color pixels over each inch of display space.
Thr Full HD screen delivers a resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels, and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 2 offers scratch resistance and protection from dings and drops. The phone can support up to 16.0 hours of talk time after a full battery charge, as well as 8.5 hours of video playback. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 APQ8064T system chip is designed with a quad core 1.7 GHz Snapdragon 600 processor, an Adreno 320 GPU handles all the graphics processing, and RAM memory is substantial at 2.0 GB.
HTC has raised the bar in the area of smartphone cameras, and has combined a 4.0 megapixel sensor with a special optical lens system, ISP and advanced CMOS image sensor. This helps the wide-angle f/2.0 lens collect up to 300% more light than the typical smartphone camera, even those with 8 and 13 megapixel sensors. This new technology is named the UltraPixel by HTC, and the camera on the back of the HTC One 4G bears a 2 UltraPixel designation.
That rear facing snapper is capable of recording video in 1,080P HD resolution, but also can capture slow-motion video clips in 768 x 432 pixel resolution. The HTC One 4G also offers a special Zoe camera feature, allowing you to capture up to 20 photos as well as a 3 second video with one click of the shutter button. Video can also be recorded simultaneous with taking snapshots, is captured at the rate of 30 frames per second, and in stereo sound as well. A front facing 2.1 megapixel chat cam is also on board, and the HTC One 4G delivers front facing dual speakers.
