htconeWith several unofficial versions already available on the World Wide Web, Jelly Bean 4.2.2 seems very close to arriving with official sanctioning in the next few days. You may remember we reported here that PhonesReview quoted an “unnamed source” supposedly close to AT&T who pointed to a Jelly Bean 4.2.2 update in the next couple of months. Significant and multiple sources believe that the Jelly Bean 4.2.2 could arrive as soon as this week for the HTC One 4G Android smartphone.

The handset launched in the United States on the AT&T 4G LTE network, and has been given “green” platinum certification by independent testing lab UL Environment. This eco-friendly tag means that the handset was constructed with environmentally preferable materials that will have the smallest possible environmental impact throughout the life of the phone. The HTC One offers the ability to control your television and home theater, acting as a remote control, and the HTC sense UI accepts multitouch, capacitive gestures for navigation.

The HTC One is definitely that smartphone manufacturer’s new Android flagship, and is a successful attempt by that company in improving their smartphone offerings in four major areas. HTC focused their efforts on upgrading camera quality, body durability, making the HTC sense UI simpler and easier, and improving stereo sound. To that effect the exclusive Beats Audio sound system has been added to the HTC One, which also provides dual front facing speakers.

The body has been revamped from previous HTC smartphones and is now a premium metal unibody, and camera quality has been improved with optical image stabilization and cutting-edge UltraPixel technology. The HTC Sense UI meshes with Android’s Jelly Bean OS, and has a more intuitive and simplistic feel. The HTC One handset also offers a large high-resolution display, and is powered by the Snapdragon 600 quad core chip which boasts 40% more power than the Snapdragon S4 Pro, and has been clocked at 1.7 GHz.

The Full HD display runs 4.70 inches, and that Super LCD 3 screen is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 2. Resolution runs 1,080 x 1,920 pixels, delivered at an industry best 468 pixels per inch. The HTC One offers a 2,300 mA battery which delivers up to 16.0 hours of talk time from a single charge. The phone comes equipped with 32 GB of built-in data storage and a generous 2.0 GB of RAM memory. The rear facing camera records video at 1,080P HD resolution, and is joined by a front facing chat cam in the camera combo.
