htcone-silverFor the longest time since hitting the shelves a couple of months ago, the HTC One has become one of the most popular handsets in the smartphone market. This is nothing new given the fact that the HTC One is the current flagship device of the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer. This status simply means that the handset has an impeccable resume made up of fire-breathing components under the hood. In addition to that, the HTC One also comes with a zero-gap aluminum unibody construction that gives it a solid build quality and attractive design aesthetic.

You can purchase the HTC One for Verizon at a reduced sale price at select online retailers starting at $149.99, which is a savings of up to $50 over carrier prices.

Due to this popularity, the HTC One made its way to most carriers in US shelves such as AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint. Verizon on the other hand at first decided to pass up on the HTC flagship but later caved in to the pressure. Looking back, a PR exec for HTC even confirmed at that time that the HTC Droid DNA will stay on as the HTC hero smartphone in the shelves of Big Red. Verizon later on decided to also release its variant of the HTC One in our side of the world.

During the announcement a couple of months back, Verizon failed to mention a specific date as to when the HTC One can be expected to make its debut in the shelves of the carrier. In short, the handset was in a pre-release limbo, so to speak, because of the scant details about the carrier’s launch plans. However, those waiting to get their hands on the Verizon version of the HTC One will no longer have to wait because the handset has finally made it to the shelves of the carrier.

The HTC One is now available for Verizon and those who are interested in making this their smartphone of choice can purchase the phone at select online retailers starting at $149.99 with a new two-year service agreement with Verizon. Those averse to contracts however have the option to purchase the handset outright for $599.99. Those who waited on this version of the handset will be glad to find out though that the Verizon HTC One comes with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean for its operating system and has slightly a updated version of the Sense 5 custom UI overlaid atop its OS. In addition to that, the HTC One is expected to get cranked up to Android 4.3 Jelly bean by end of September so it will become more capable than it already is.

Under the hood, the operation of the HTC One is powered by a QualComm APQ8064T SnapDragon 600 chipset while its snappy performance is brought about by a quad-core 1.7 GHz Krait 300 and 2GB of RAM. The handset also comes with a very generous 32GB of onboard storage but sad to say, there is no option to have this expanded. As for its display, the HTC One comes with a 4.7-inch Super LCD3 panel with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels while its camera department features a rear 4MP UltraPixel shooter and a front 2.1MP video call and self-portrait snapper. The HTC One for Verizon can be purchased at a discounted price tag starting at $149.99.
