htconeThe HTC One was already one of the most anticipated smartphones of the year, so it did not help matters when HTC pushed back the delivery date to April 19. As time does, it passed rapidly by, and we now have the HTC One Jelly Bean powered smartphone in our hands. Offered on the AT&T 4G LTE network by online retailer Amazon for $199 on contract, the handset delivers the highest pixel density of any current smartphone, an impressive camera package, and an upcoming delivery of Jelly Bean 4.2.2.

Website PhonesReview quoted an inside source today that revealed the HTC One would be receiving an upgrade to Jelly Bean 4.2.2 “in about two months time.” That unnamed source has not been confirmed, but the handset does offer Jelly Bean 4.1 out-of-the-box. Specific HTC Sense-driven features are delivered on the HTC One, like the Sense TV that allows you to use the smartphone as a remote control for your TV, and the BlinkFeed feature that lets you consolidate your social networking sites, and delivers feeds and updates to your home screen.

The phone has been widely anticipated because of its 4.7 inch 1,080P Full HD display, and the arrival of the Snapdragon 600 quad core processor which offers up to 40% more power than the Snapdragon S4 Pro. Slim for such a powerful handset, the HTC One 4G Android smartphone measures 0.37 inches (9.3 mm). The display mentioned above is a Super-LCD 3 model with 1,080 x 1,920 pixel resolution, and that screen is protected against everyday wear and tear by a scratch resistant layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 2..

The phone is capable of up to 16.0 hours of talk time and 8.5 hours of video playback from a single charge, and the system chip is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 APQ8064T model. The handset also delivers a powerful Adreno 320 GPU for graphics processing, a full 2.0 GB of RAM memory and 32 GB of built-in data storage. NFC capable out-of-the-box, the HTC One 4G also delivers a Stereo FM radio with RDS display options, YouTube video player, front facing dual speakers and exclusive Beats Audio sound enhancement.

The camera delivers cutting-edge technology, using a 2 UltraPixel sensor to capture up to 300% more light than the typical 8.0 megapixel and 13.0 megapixel cameras on other smartphones. Simultaneous HD video and image capture is possible on that rear facing snapper, which can also provide up to 20 photos and a 3 second video with one push of the shutter button. The HTC One also delivers a front facing chat cam, and video resolution on that rear facing camcorder runs 1,080P HD.
