htconeIf you have the HTC One over on the Sprint network you might want to double check and make sure you didn’t get the update notification for Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.  According to HTC, the update is ready and will be sent out to devices over the next week or more.  HTC promised the updated software for the HTC One to those on the AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless devices back in September.  The good news came today via the President over at HTC and it is just one day after the company missed the end of September goal.

The HTC One 4G is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $49.99$0.01 – $549.00.

The update is going out to users over-the-air and it is typical of that process to take a little while as it is sent out in phases to avoid any issues with mass installations of the updated software.  Other than the Android 4.3 software, enhancements to the Sense 5 user interface are also going to be coming with it.  According to a screenshot of the update, it will be build number 3.04.651.2 and it will be almost 575MB in size.  This means that you should make sure that you are connected to a secure Wi-Fi network and make sure you have enough battery life before starting.

The same screenshot shows a small change log that includes the Android 4.3 update, Sense 5 Enhancements that also includes some bug fixes not mentioned specifically.  Even though the update is going out to Sprint users, the President at HTC did not mention the exact dates for the roll out on other mobile networks.  Typically they all comes in phases right close to one another, so it should not be long before we hear of the update at AT&T, Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile.

Once the roll out is complete, the United States versions of the HTC One device will be lined up with the international models that got updated just a few weeks ago.  HTC did not confirm what might be next for the popular smartphone and with Google’s Android 4.4 KitKat looming on the horizon, it could be the next update for the device, but when it will arrive is the real question.  If you are not prompted to download the software, double check things through the Settings area of your phone.

The HTC One 4G can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at $0.01 – $549.00.
