Smartphone manufacturers like to make their own user interface different from that of their competition. This is so in the case of an operating system like Android, which may be available across multiple manufacturers, a company like HTC can attempt to give you the smoothest experience, while also getting you used to their particular interface and feel. That having been said, the HTC Sense Android overlay and user interface has been one of the more warmly received mobile UIs.
The HTC One 4G is available for a reduced sale price now starting at $19.99.
The HTC One 4G Android smartphone rolled out-of-the-box with Sense 5.0, and is receiving a boost up to Sense 5.5. That announcement came this past week, and if you own an HTC One smartphone in North America, just check your notifications for the over the air update. Do not stress out if you do not see the Sense 5.5 notification, as software updates are a fluid animal, and will be handled differently according to which wireless carrier your HTC One is running on.
Also, in what is probably going to be considered the bigger piece of news, Android’s 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system will also be bundled in this new update. Both packages are wrapped in one single download in most cases, and the HTC Sense 5.5 update first revealed its presence on the supersized HTC One Max, a 5.9 inch version of the One which includes a rear fingerprint sensor. The Sense 5.5 Android user interface will include several updates and upgrades, allowing HTC One smartphone owners to disable their HTC BlinkFeed home screen.
This was one of the newer and more anticipated features of the HTC One on launch, and if you enjoy the BlinkFeed social networking notification feature, the new software now allows you to remove stories which you no longer have interest in simply by initiating a “long press.” The new HTC Sense UI upgrade will also deliver new control and display options for BlinkFeed, a wide variety of new camera and photo gallery features such as video highlights, and an upgraded HTC Share.
This sharing feature is now automatically built into video and photo galleries, and with the new Sense 5.5 arriving alongside Android’s Jelly Bean 4.3 upgrade, owners of the powerful HTC One 4G will be able to do even more with their bestselling and popular smartphone. Summertime saw a substantial price reduction on the HTC One handset, as this is the slowest season in the mobile marketplace. The phone delivers a large Full HD 4.70 inch display with a resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels, 16.0 hours of talk time from a single battery charge, and a speedy 1.7 GHz quad core central processor.
The HTC One 4G can be purchased at a discounted price tag now starting at $19.99.
