htconeIn today’s smartphone world, the HTC One could probably be one of the more powerful handsets currently available in the market today. It is the flagship device of the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer and as such, the handset comes with an impeccable resume made up of remarkable components under the hood. With the punch it packs in its internals, the HTC One is capable of blasting through any task, even multiple ones at that, with relative ease. Not only that, the handset also boasts of a chassis with solid build quality and elegant design aesthetic thanks largely to its aluminum unibody construction.

Due to these attributes, the HTC One reached a level of popularity never before seen in an HTC smartphone. In fact, the handset is now available in major carriers in our side of the world with the exception of Verizon. It was only recently that Big Red decided to release its variant of the HTC One in US shores after the handset became a hit with other carriers that released it. Actually, we all thought that Big Red will pass up on the HTC One after a PR exec for HTC North America confirmed in the past that the HTC Droid DNA will remain the HTC hero smartphone over at Verizon.

Since the announcement, details about the launch plans for the Verizon HTC One were very scant and the carrier chose to keep things close to the vest in terms of the release date of the HTC flagship. A couple of days ago though, we saw the HTC One version of Big Red show up at the doorstep of the FCC so we thought that it is just a matter of time before we will finally see the handset make its debut in the shelves of Big Red.

In fact, word on the street is that the Verizon HTC One could very well get released on August 1 if certain rumors pan out. The information comes from a leaked Verizon road map that intimates that the HTC flagship could become available for public consumption on the said date. Though it is already fashionably late, subscribers of Big Red wanting to make the HTC One their next mobile weapon of choice will still be excited with this news – especially if it turns out to be more than just rumors.

Going back to the HTC One, the handset is still running Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean for its operating system but an upgrade to Android 4.2.2 is already planned for the device. Its operation is powered by a QualComm APQ8064T SnapDragon 600 chipset while its flawless performance is courtesy of the partnership of its quad-core 1.7 GHz Krait 300 processor and 2GB of RAM. The handset can be had in a 32GB and a 64GB variant in terms of storage capacity while its display is a 4.7-inch Super LCD 3 panel with a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Its dual-shooter configuration on the other hand is also very impressive with its rear 4MP UltraPixel shooter and front 2.1MP video call and self-portrait snapper.
